ONCE UPON A TIME…there was a furry black kitten named Frida who lived with her mom and brother Fibo with their two humans.
EVERY DAY…her mom would bathe the kittens at night and tell them the story of the yellow-eyed cats who when they turned one got to choose whether to practice magic or remain regular domestic cats. She warned her kittens that not all humans would respond well to magic cats.
UNTIL ONE DAY…as their mom was magically drying them in mid-air, their humans caught her using magic, and in a hysteric rush, flung Frida’s mom so hard through a glass cabinet that she died. The frightened kittens were chased out of the house and into the cold streets.
AND BECAUSE OF THAT…Frida and Fibo found themselves without shelter or humans to look after them. Fibo was able to find a human family to take him in, but wary of her last experience with humans, Frida remained hidden. She just wanted to find a home where she could find shelter, love, and a safe place to practice magic if she chose to.
AND BECAUSE OF THAT…Frida chose to cautiously explore the city a bit, until she bumped into a seemingly lovely couple who took her in. She tried to keep to herself and not give her humans any reason to throw her out, abandon, stop loving, or maybe even give them any reason to kill her, especially if they ever found out she could choose to practice magic.
AND BECAUSE OF THAT…Frida begins practicing magic while her dads are asleep so that she can communicate with Fibo via astral projection. She even gains access to her coven’s history on the astral plane, learning that each member gains strength by bravely taking a leap of faith to trust one another, that the collective chosen bonds strengthen the coven as a whole.
UNTIL FINALLY…one evening, Frida’s two dads wake up in bed shocked to find her phasing through walls overhead! The shock in their eyes reminds her of the night she lost her mom, and she drops hard onto the floor.
Her dads pick her up, start to cry, and Frida is stunned to hear their voices in her head. She can hear their thoughts telling her they love her, hoping she is ok, and that they understand what she must be going through, because they’ve had to hide their powers from people, too.
AND EVER SINCE THAT DAY…Frida and her human dads live their authentic lives, encouraging each other’s abilities, and loving each other unconditionally.
AND THE MORAL OF THE STORY IS…let go of fear and let love in.
