Act 1:
1. Once upon a time, there was a polar bear named Bruce who lived a cold and solitary life in Alaska
a. Bruce was your typical polar bear
b. He was strong, had thick white fur, and impeccably clean paws
2. Every day he swam long distances and hunted for food all alone
a. He was fearless and would follow his nose wherever it led him
b. Seals were his favorite meal for as long as he could remember
3. Until one day, he smelled something new, something spicy, and enthusiastically tracked the scent until he found himself face to face with a lost fisherman
a. Bruce gave his loudest roar and asked the fisherman what he was holding
b. “It’s a fish taco, I brought it all the way from my home country, Mexico” the fisherman pleaded, before running away screaming and throwing the taco
c. It was the most delicious food Bruce had ever tasted
Act 2:
1. Because of that Bruce realizes maybe there’s more he wants in life, and thinking it may be tacos, he heads to Mexico
a. He swims across oceans, further than he ever swam before
b. Swimming day and night to reach the shores of Mexico
2. Because Mexico is so different than Alaska,
a. He runs into many things that make life hard like hot sun,
b. Course scratchy sand that gets everywhere
c. and most frustrating of all an inability to make tacos.
3. Because of that, Bruce becomes increasingly frustrated and sad and prepares to head back north
a. He was always able to hunt seals, catch fish and live an easy life in Alaska, but now he sees all the community working together
b. Bruce didn’t realize how alone he truly was in the world
Act 3:
1. Until finally he meets a kid after his final morning swim who doesn’t run away scared
a. Instead he shows bruce how to cool off in the cenote,
b. Shows him to use the sand to make castles
c. And most importantly, the kid’s family shows him how to press tortillas for tacos.
d. Bruce learned the power of friendship
2. And ever since then, Bruce decided to stay in Mexico,
a. where he swims with his friends in the cenote
b. He opened a beach side taqueria, so everyone always has a place to find a good taco.
Morale of the story
Logline: Bruce P Bear was your typical Polar Bear from the North Pole: Smart, strong and like every polar bear, thought he had all he needed... until one chance encounter with a taco.
