True Felines

Act 1
Opening Image
Once upon a time, there was a meteor that turned everyone half human half cat. Hundreds of years later a charismatic figure by the name of Jinro would start a cult. Imjedu was one of many half girl half cats that was born into this cult.

Everyday she would participate in tasks that would help the cult grow. She hoped that one day her hard work would pay off and she could become a full cat during the ascension ritual.

Theme Stated

One day, Imjedu, her brother Len and Rory’s are on meteor shard collecting duty. The radioactive meteor shards are being collected for an upcoming ascension ritual. Imjedu and Rory have a conversation about the Cult. Rory has doubts about the cult and the rituals, whereas Imjedu doesn’t question authority.

Imjedu finds a mysterious artifact. Len confiscates it and decides he will take the credit.

Setup and Catalyst
Len gets to skip to the ascension ritual right away, something that has not been done before! Jinro gives a speech about their current physical form being an abomination. Half human half cats need to ascend to full cats, or True Felines.
Break into Twos
During Len’s ritual, Imjedu sneaks through an air vent to the inner workings of the cathedral to bear witness of Len’s Ascension Ritual. She pulls out her Cult bible that shows meteor shard plus half human half cat equals full cat.The ritual goes wrong and Len is dead. Jinro is upset and takes an ordinary cat to go and show the crowd. Imjedu is speechless and turns back the way she came... BUT she bumps into the vent and makes a loud noise. Jinro and the cult leaders hear her in the air vent. Jinro says to find whoever made that noise. Jinro shows the crowd the cat and insists the ritual worked. Imjedu runs through a crowd with a bunch of people with cats being happy. She knows for every cat, someone was murdered.

Act 2
Debate
Imjedu starts questioning authority and tries to understand what is going on. All the adults are ignorant about the situation and say how ridiculous the idea is. Imjedu goes to the police and meets with the lead detective of the force, Jonas. Jonas accepts the challenge to take down the cult with her.

B Story and Fun and Games

While staking out the now boarded up entrance to the underground lab, she meets up with Rory. Rory has an “I told you so moment”. Rory invites her to work together as well as join the middle school Conspiracy Club. The only caveat is she can’t trust any of the authorities.

She makes friends with a group of misfits to figure out the sinister motifs of the cult leader. There is a montage of them putting all the information on a corkboard with pictures and red web of strings. They test out all the equipment they will use. Imjedu is still in close contact with Hooper, even though the Conspiracy Club said not to tell anyone. They discover that the library is connected to a huge underground laboratory. They sneak around all the scientist and look for evidence.

Midpoint
The crew confronts Jinro and they find out that he is only a puppet actor and doesn’t know the true plan. He gave the artifact to his higher ups. Imjedu says that they should turn him into the police, but the others don’t think that the idea is safe.

Bad Guys Close In

They decide to keep Jinro at the hideout. But when they return it is completely ransacked by the police. Imjedu tells them about Jonas and they are working together. She decides to go check it out, but the other three don’t trust her decision.

All Is Lost
Despite trusting the police, Jonas and his team arrest her. She is now in a cell and doesn’t even know where she is.

Dark Night of the Soul
She should have trusted her friends like she had been doing.

Break Into Three
Jo nas reveals that he is actually behind the plan on using the artifact on the entire community to prove he can turn them all into True Felines. He is willing to use it no matter if it works or fails!

Act 3
Finale
Jonas doesn’t know, but Imjedu still has her radio the entire time. The rest of the kids broadcast his entire confession over the cult intercom radio station to the entire community!

Jonas is so upset and uses the artifact on himself. He transforms into a giant terrifying cat and attacks Imjedu. They burst through a wall and Imjedu realizes they are in the underground lab.

There is an epic chase scene between Imjedu and the giant cat! Imjedu runs into the rest of the kids and says she is so sorry. They come up with a plan to defeat the monster. Imjedu has to trust her friends and they manage to stop the monster!

Final Image
And ever since then the cult has grown closer as a community as they rebuild the world as they know it.
