Hi! Enjoy my storyreel and thank you so much for spreading some love! It was a great time to me creating this storyboard!

Act1:
1. Once a year, in the Faroe Islands, Murre birds scattered around the world returned to their colony in search of true love.
- Two of them immediately caught each other's eye and fell in love at first sight. After time, their love resulted in their first spotted egg.
- However, living on the cliffs involves constant exposure to predators. Their nest was attacked by a huge gull with a scar on its eye. The brave birds managed to save their egg from being stolen, but a crack appeared on the egg.
- Not long after, all the birds in the colony welcomed the hatching babies into the world. Also from the cracked egg came into the world a tiny Murrelet chick. He was smaller and more lanky than the other chicks, but just as loved by his parents as the others.
2. The parents looked after the chicks. His dad warmed him between his legs. His mum jumped off the cliff into the water and brought fish to eat. He looked out from the nest curious about the other birds.
- When he and the other chicks grew up, they were able to leave the nest and finally meet.
- However, it turned out that he couldn't keep up with the others. The other chicks were running and playing and he stayed behind. They didn't notice him because he was too small, too slow and too quiet. His parents hugged him and comforted him.

3. Until one morning came the day the chicks were to learn to dive from the cliff into the water. The oldest of the birds showed them how they should jump.
- The mother overtook Murrelet and presented the jump from the highest rock. The chicks were entranced.
- As their parents waited for them to drift on the ocean waves, each chick bravely jumped into the water from a smaller cliff.
- Murrelet approached the edge and glanced down. His parents were encouraging him to jump by waving from below. But he saw nothing but huge, sharply pointed rock tops and the rough waters of the ocean. The water itself was unimaginably far away for such a small bird. Frightened, Murrelet began to shake and move as far away from the cliff as possible. He fell on his bottom. The other chicks behind him grew impatient, overtook him and proudly leapt into the water leaving him behind.
- Murrelet was left with no choice but to watch the chicks playing in the water from the top of the cliff. His parents comforted him.

Act 2:

1. Days passed, the young birds learned to jump into the water every day and became better and better at it. They played more and more of the day in the water than on the cliff. Murrelet was left alone in the nest.
- The other chicks began to tease him. They surrounded him and pushed him to jump into the water. Fortunately, this was seen by his mother who chased away the bullying young birds.
- Murrelet was devastated. He thought he would only make friends if he proved he was as brave as they were.

2. Lying in the nest he saw a high cliff from which only the oldest birds, including his mother, were jumping. He decided to climb the high rock and jump to prove that he was 'worthy' of the company of the other chicks.
- The weather worsened. Murrelet struggled to climb the rock despite his small legs. He couldn't give up now. He was too determined to show the others his worth.
- Suddenly there was a screech in the colony alerting the other birds to the approaching danger. Seagulls. All the birds flittered between their nests. Mum and Dad tried to find Murrlet.
- They found him by sight as he stood on top of the highest cliff exposed to the danger. He was too far away to hear the alarm and their desperate cries. All the birds looked towards him. In the distance, gulls could be seen approaching.
- And he decided. It was now or never.

3. Murrelet closed his eyes and jumped off the cliff.
- As the chick fell he was horrified to see a fearsome predatory gull with a scarred eye reach out its talons to catch him. In the blink of an eye his parents were by his side. Dad grabbed Murrelet in mid-flight and his mum pounced on the seagull. They pushed each other with their wings, biting each other with their beaks, until they both fell into the rough abyss of the ocean.
- Murrelet and his dad landed safely in the colony. They looked down as the waves crashed against the rocks. It started to rain. Dad hugged Murrelet close. His mum never swam out of the ocean again.
- The other little ones saw the sacrifice of his parents. A sad time in the colony ensued.

Act 3:

1. Murrelet was sitting shattered in his nest when he heard the clatter of a falling pebble. Then a second and a third. He looked out of the nest but saw no one.
- He turned to his dad and walked with him to the edge from where there was a view of the colony. They saw other young birds flipping stones and sticks.
- They went down to them. The chicks, together with their parents, waved to him and greeted him with smiles. They showed with their wings what they had done for him. The path leading from the cliffs down to the ocean had been cleared by them. This meant that from now on Murrelet was able to go down into the water without having to take a great leap.
- When he realised what they had done for him he jumped for joy. He pulled his dad and together with the other birds they ran down to the bottom where Murrelet was able to enter the ocean for the first time. Diving into the water with his other friends was a landmark moment for him.

2. And since then all birds were playing together in the water and Murrelet made friends with others.
- Murrelet was splashing in the water with happiness. He swam up to his dad and they both looked at the highest cliff where his mum always jumped. The beautiful sun came out from there, illuminating their bay with its glow.

Moral:
Murrelet learned that we love others because of who they are, not who they pretend to be.
