Hey all, here is the final video for the exhibition. I wanted to make the story a bit longer and have music in the video from various songs from the 60s-90s, but I can't upload the video with any of the songs I desired without the risk of a copyright. So instead, I've typed the names of the songs that I had in mind for the different eras/scenes below if you want to mute and listen to those song while watching the video over the one amazing song that I was able to add. Thank you all for the feedback and support and I wish you all the best! 😊

ACT I:
Once upon a time, in a secluded home, there was a grieving, disgruntled, and reclusive elderly man named Malcolm Luther.
Minor Beat: A tired and grumpy Malcolm wakes up disturbed by a phone call from his son which he ignores.
Minor Beat: He gets up and stares sadly at a picture, then a pair of roller skates, a jewelry box on his dresser.
Minor Beat: His cell phone rings and startles him again to see that it’s his son and he ignores it.

Every day, Malcolm is constantly ignoring his phone calls throughout the week.
Minor Beat: We see several missed calls from his son and grandson.
Minor Beat: Malcolm becomes more and more annoyed to the point where he turns off his phone and unplugs his house phone from the wall.

Until one day, Malcolm receives an unexpected letter from his son and grandson.
Minor Beat: Malcolm opens the letter, reads it, and is angry about what he read.
Minor Beat: Malcolm looks at the calendar to check today’s date and is triggered.
Minor Beat: Malcolm angrily disposes of the letter and retreats to his living room.
Minor Beat: He decides to turn on his phone to listen to music on an app created by Meta Tech called Timeless Tunes.
Minor Beat: The music app pops up with an ad for a beta trial to listen to some old-classics and Malcolm clicks on it.

ACT II:

Song: Dancing in the Street by Martha and the Vandellas
Because of that, Malcolm is suddenly transported back in time to the 1960s
Minor Beat: Malcolm realizes he’s riding on a bike, freaks out, crashes into a pole near a store.
Minor Beat: He looks at his reflection in the store window and realizes he is a kid again.
Minor Beat: He notices a pair of roller skates in the store window and stares at them with great sadness again.

Song: My Girl by the Temptations
Because of that, a mysterious girl eating a lollipop pops up next to him staring at the roller-skates too and startles Malcolm.
Minor Beat: The girl smiles, introduces herself, and hands Malcolm a lollipop.

Song: Baby Love by The Surpremes
Minor Beat: Malcolm smiles and accepts the lollipop and they skip off together into the sunset as the song ends.

Song: Let's Groove by Earth, Wind, & Fire
Because of that, time quickly passes to the 1970s where Malcolm and the girl are teens dancing at a high school prom

Song: Got to be There by MJ and the Jackson 5
Minor Beat: Malcolm and the girl start to slow dance and become intimate.
Minor Beat: But the song changes before they could share a kiss.

Song: If It Isn't Love by New Edition
Because of that, time passes to the 1980s and a young adult Malcolm is transported to a roller-skating rink.
Minor Beat: Malcolm realizes he has a jewelry box in his hand along with his phone.
Minor Beat: Malcolm plans to propose to the woman on the skating rink.
Minor Beat: Malcolm doesn’t know how to skate, trips, and drops both his phone and the jewelry box.
Minor Beat: Malcolm retrieves the jewelry box and opens it to propose to the woman and she accepts.

Song: Love Me In a Special Way by DeBarge
Minor Beat: As they were about to share a kiss, someone accidentally runs over his phone which causes Malcolm as well as the music to glitch out.

Song: Killing Me Softly With His Song by the Fugees
Because of that, Malcolm is transported to 1990s wearing a military uniform.
Minor Beat: A worried Malcolm looks back at his pregnant & sickly wife and attempts to give her a kiss before he leaves to go off the war, but he and the music glitch out again.

Because of that, Malcolm is transported to 1995 to a hospital where his wife is sick.
Minor Beat: A sorrowful Malcolm realizes this is the moment his wife is about to die.

Song: 1999 by Prince
Minor Beat: He desperately tries to replay the last song on his phone to remain in a happy moment with her forever.
Minor Beat: He repeatedly travels back to the 1980s to the moment he proposed to his wife at the skating rink, but keeps glitching out.

ACT III:

Song: I Will Always Love You by Whitney Houston
Until finally, the music app crashes and gets stuck on a 90s song and Malcolm is transported back in the hospital for a brief final moment.
Minor Beat: A distraught Malcolm is then comforted by his wife who assures him that she will be okay and that he needs to let go.
Minor Beat: The two finally share a kiss as she fades away with only her ring remaining in Malcolm's hand.
Minor Beat: Malcolm turns around to see that his young son was next to him the whole time.
Minor Beat: He smiles at his son and gives him a big hug as his son also fades away.
Minor Beat: Malcolm is back in reality with his wife’s ring in his hand and puts it back in the jewelry box.

And ever since then, after returning to the present, Malcolm found peace with himself.
Minor Beat: He picks up the letter from his son and grandson that he tossed and opens it again.
Minor Beat: In the letter, we see that his grandson asked if he could have his grandmother's wedding ring to propose to his girlfriend.
Minor Beat: Malcolm smiles, looks at the photo of his wife, and grabs the jewelry box that contains his wife's wedding ring.

Song: Let's Get Married Remix by Jagged Edge
Minor Beat: One week later, Malcolm is present at his grandson's proposal to his girlfriend at the beach.
Minor Beat: His son, standing next to him, thanks him as Malcolm smiles and hugs him.

Credits Song: Walking in Tokyo by Keston Wright
The End

The moral of the story is to pass on the love.

"Holding on to a loved one — or something in your past — can block your relationship with others; surrender to your life as it is now." — Laurie Pawlik-Kienlen

The theme of the story is: "What is lovely never dies, but passes into other loveliness, Star-dust, or sea-foam, flower or winged air." ― Thomas Bailey Aldrich
