ACT 1
“Imagine a world where dreaming is not a thing. Everytime you go to sleep is like a sudden blink and one of the great forces that move humanity forward, it's just a memory. Not cool right? Well.. Let me tell you a story…”

Once Upon a Time…
Outside a big city in an industrial old town, there was an adventurous, curious and brave kid called Grantley.
He lives with his grandpa, in an old house that has seen better days.
He sadly had an unlucky childhood. Lost his parents when he was a young boy so doesn’t remember a lot. His grandfather took care of him and raised him.
He still carries the teddy that his parents gave to him when he was little. “He will always protect you.. His dad said”.. That’s the only memory he has from them.
He’s a textbook dreamer. Life is too boring for him. Nothing incredible or exciting ever happens so most of the time he’s at home or at school imagining amazing worlds with unbelievable creatures and adventures with him always in the middle being a hero.

Every Day…
He goes to school while his grandpa works at his office that he has at home in the basement.
He’s always been curious about his grandpa’s office but he was not allowed to go in there. What his grandpa’s job is was always a question mark. Something about management.
At school he’s not the best student but that doesn’t mean he’s not smart.
He’s always distracted and somewhere else. Imagining what if…
More than usual he saw how some of his friends were picked up or bullied at school by older students. And most of the time he was not an exception.
Despite the fact that he’s not strong and inferior to the challenge, he always wanted to defend his friends but he was always unsuccessful.

Until One Day…
One afternoon, after school, Grantley and his friends were again surrounded by these kids. But this time he stood in front of the bullies and managed to overcome the situation and defend his friends.
He came back home looking for his grandpa to tell him about what happened at school.
He enters his grandpa’s office overwhelmed with excitement and accomplishment.
After not finding his grandpa, Grant starts looking around, distracted by what he sees. All kinds of weird mechanical objects, books and things he didn’t recognize.
He accidentally discovers a secret door that goes to a mysterious room.
In there he finds what seems to be an ancient machine that looks like a mix of old industrial gears and tubes with some analogic more modern elements. And so many screens that it was impossible to count.
Under one of the screens he could read in a small metallic label “D.O.M.S. #...” (Dream Operation Management System).
Caught by the odd looking and intriguing machine he activates something that unleashes all kinds of lights and alarming sounds.
Grantley is suddenly thrown away by all the mysterious creatures escaping from the machine like a storm. A mix of kindness and evil, warm and cold, happiness and darkness. All together at the same time.
His grandpa finds Grantley in the aftermath and after realizing that he was ok decides to tell him what his job actually is and his story. That he’s the last one of a secret group of people called ‘The Dreamcatchers’. That hundreds of years ago managed to capture all dreams and use the D.O.M.S.s machines to help humanity to push forward despite all the pain and suffering that filled the world and brought it to the verge of darkness.

ACT 2

Because of That…
Now all he needs to do is learn the ways of the Dreamcatcher and capture all dreams back to restore the machine and bring everything back to normal.
He learned that all dreams always come along with an equal evil, the nightmares. If you find a dream, the nightmare is not going to be too far.
To catch a dream or nightmare it’s important to first understand it. You know, dreams get attached or link to earthly elements. If you recover those objects you’re going to be able to capture that dream and the power it contains.
That same day Grantley discovers that his teddy was missing.
He came back to where the machine was to look for it and after a while he found it only to realize that when all dreams escaped, one of those dreams got attached to his teddy giving him life and incredible powers.

Because of That…
After many days of training Grantley decided to go out and catch dreams and nightmares alike.
It was a learning curve to get a hand of these new skills. But at the same time it was exciting and it was giving him that sense of adventure that he was always wanted.
He starts finding these objects and catching dreams all over town with the help of his teddy.
All these dreams were giving him the power needed to face and capture the nightmares that were scattered over all the town.
After a while, after catching yet another dream at the park, a dreadful silence overtakes the entire place.
The air suddenly became really thin and cold and for that moment Grantley could feel a great danger getting closer. And it terrifies him.
His grandpa quickly tells him to return immediately home because a nightmare was coming. The most terrifying nightmare of all. And he was not ready to face it yet.

Because of That…
Overconfident and without listening to his grandpa he moved forward and faced it despite all warnings.
He moves into the cold mist inside the park ready for the challenge.
Then some of the games at the playground started moving by themselves.
Grantley starts hearing an uncomfortable deep voice in the air behind him.
All of a sudden he couldn’t move. He lost communication with his grandpa. And he realized that he was totally alone.
A strange figure appears looking at Grantley really close to him.
His teddy seeing the evident danger charges towards this creature with a close fist. But when he makes contact nothing happens. Was like he lost all his strength.
Clearly unmatched Grantley is defeated terribly and loses all the objects he collected leaving the fate of the world at the edge of the abyss. Everything seems lost.

ACT3

Until Finally…
When he was on the ground he woke up listening to the voice of his grandpa. He sees his Teddy standing in front of him protecting him against this terrible dangerous nightmare. Such a small thing against an incredible feat.
And it’s there when his teddy turns back to look at him and he realizes something. Something that he thought he always knew. “I will always protect you..” his teddy said.
Grantley cries but smiles at the same time.
A great power starts growing inside of him. The only power he always needed.
Grantley stands up and walks towards the nightmare with an air of relief and dreams in his eyes.
He grabs his teddy and puts him on his shoulder.
And it was there when he felt he could do anything.
He needed to face his darkest fear. That was his own nightmare.
He jumped towards it in an epic face-off. (light transition)
Victory!

And ever since Then…
Everything came back to normal. Everyone was so close to losing everything but it was the power of one kid and his teddy that changed it all.
No one ever knew about the existence of The Dreamcatcher and the D.O.M.S. machine.
Everyone went to bed knowing that they would have a dream. A dream of a better future, a dream of a better world.
We all have our own capacity for dreaming. We only need to believe.
After a while, Grantley came back to the room where it all started.
He sits in the old chair checking that the machine works properly when he realizes something.
In the metallic label there was some dust. When removed it clearly says “D.O.M.S. #31”. There were more of these machines. Maybe he was not the last dreamcatcher after all.
