Eternals
Act 1:

Once upon a time, in New York City, a Mother gave birth to a beautiful baby boy named, Braylon Ray Myles, Bram for short. He grew up in a small apartment with his Mother and Grandmother. Everyday Bram would spend his time in the kitchen watching his Grandmother cook, while he would play with the pots and pans in the cupboards. As Bram grew up, he also grew a passion for cooking because of his Grandma, who he absolutely loved and adored. The kitchen was where they spent the most time and where his fondest memories took place.

Bram as eager as he is at the age of ten, learned every technique and recipe he possibly could with the help of his idol, Chef Rasoyia. He would read every magazine article Chef Rasoyia was in and watched all of his cooking shows on television. Bram would try and mimic Chef Rasoyia as much as he possibly could, but it was his Grandmother who was always by his side while he cooked. Bram even told his Grandmother, “One day I’m going to be a famous Chef and run my own restaurant, just like Chef Rasoyia” He proclaimed. His Grandmother smiled at him and nodded, “Yes, I know you will, one day.” She replied.

Now at 20 years old, Bram got accepted into Culinary School, which made his Mother and Grandmother very proud. Three years passed, all of Bram’s hard work finally paid off. He was going to become a Chef, now that he graduated Culinary School.

On their way home, Bram grabbed the mail and filtered through the piles of mundane letters, bills, and junk, he noticed a very unique flyer. The words read, Eternals. He kept reading, “A unique fine dining steakhouse, so good you’ll be dying to get in the doors!” Underneath all of the gloomy font,

Bram noticed in tiny writing that read, “Brought to you by, the one and only, Chef Rasoyia.” Bram overwhelmed with joy, had a brilliant idea. He thought to himself, Maybe I could get a job at Eternals, it is opening downtown and I could learn so much more from Chef Rasoyia. Bram ran upstairs to tell his family that he was going to apply there to become a Sous Chef.

A few days went by, Bram received a phone call. A voice mysteriously spoke, a man gave instructions to Bram that told him to meet at Eternals at nine o’clock sharp. This phone call sounded like it was coming from the secret service. Bram replied in a confused tone, “Who is….is this? Oh, is this for the interview?” The voice on the line spoke louder, cutting Bram off, “Yes. Nine o’ clock sharp.” The call ended. He shook off his uneasy feeling about the phone call and was now stoked that he got an interview at Eternals.

Act 2:

Bram took the bus downtown and arrived in front of the restaurant. It looked dark and eerie and had an almost gothic vibe to the outside of the restaurant. The restaurant seemed out of place and there was a neon sign flashing the word, Eternals, in bright green letters. Bram paused for a moment, took a deep breath and sighed his nerves away, “Everything will be fine,” he muttered to himself as he entered in the back door. Bram entered into a small reception area where three other people were sitting there.

They were stone cold silent, staring down at the ground. The whole room had a sickly quietness that wafted throughout the building. Bram sat down and waited with the others. A deathly loud voice shouted out from the room behind the desk, that startled all of them, so much so, that one of the girls almost fell out of her chair. The shrill voice came from the receptionist, BRAM! He got up and walked to the back room, it was time for his interview.

Because of the intimidating atmosphere, Bram had a nerve-racking interview. He couldn’t remember what he was saying, he rambled on when he didn’t need to and during the part where he was suppose to cook a simple recipe for Chef Rasoyia he used sugar instead of salt, he dropped a cast iron pan on his foot, and the steak was slightly on the rare side. He was sent out of the room immediately with the point of a finger signaling to the door.

Bram knew he failed, he sulked all the way home he felt miserable. As he reached the street where he lived, he noticed red and blue flashing lights, two cop cars and a Medical Examiner van near his apartment. Bram’s heart sunk. Walking slow at first, then sprinting toward the apartment. He noticed his mom outside, she had a tissue in her hand and she was sobbing. Bram arrived only to find out that his Grandmother had passed away that afternoon from a sudden heart attack.

Bram, in disbelief that his Grandmother is gone, decided that maybe he wasn’t cut out to be a great Chef. He grabbed a box and began throwing his utensils into it. He grabbed his chef coat from the closet and in doing so, he knocked over a shoebox full of photographs. Bram sighed and began picking them up. They were pictures of him as a little baby playing in the kitchen with his Grandmother.

He seemed so happy while cooking with his Grandmother. Bram let out a huge sigh, wiped his tears, and smiled. He knew that he had to become a Chef, especially now that his Grandmother wasn’t there. Grandma Myles has always supported Bram in his dream of becoming a great Chef and because of this realization, Bram knew what he had to do.

It was now, Twelve o’clock Midnight and Bram hopped a Taxi downtown, in hopes that Chef Rasoyia hadn’t left the restaurant just yet. As he approached the Steakhouse he was eager to get inside. Bram jiggled the handle to the back door. To his surprise it was still unlocked.

Bram noticed a glowing green light, emanating from a partially closed door. He could see movement from inside the room. A small bat flew in though the window, carrying a small vile of liquid clenched inside its foot. A tattered old book sat on the table in front of a green bubbling cauldron. Off to the side, there were ribeye steaks marinating in the green glowing liquid.

Bram wanted to get a closer look at the large book on the table. Just then the bat disappeared, a cloud of sparkling dust appeared and Amar emerged over the bubbling cauldron and immediately left the room unattended. Bram snuck into the room and stared down at the pages. He couldn’t comprehend what was written as it was in a strange language. There was a recipe written at the bottom of the page that read:

8 Deathberries,
8 cups of bioluminescent algae,
1 bat wing, 2 carotenoids,
1/2 cup of beets and chilled Spider eggs.

Closing the book Bram heard a noise, it was Chef Rasoyia coming back into the room. He was startled and his heart began to race. He was going to be seen if he didn’t do something quick. He bolted out the door.

When Chef Amar Rasoyia came back to tend to his concoction, he immediately recognized that his book was missing. Bram ran off with out knowing he had brought the book with him. Rasoyia, was upset, he had a spell that needed to be finished and only a matter of time to complete it in. As Bram was running out, he knocked over a pile of stacked dinner plates onto the ground, giving awareness of his presence to Chef Rasoyia. Amar emerged out into the dark dining area and flipped on a dim light. Bram was spotted shuffling across the room with the book in hand.

“Bram?” Rasoyia uttered as he turned on the dining room fireplace.

“Yes, it’s me’ he replied as he turned to face Rasoyia.

“What are you doing here and at such a late hour?” Amar said slyly.

“I…I…came here to ask for a second chance at the interview.” Bram stuttered.

“I see….but you must know that I do not give second chances” Amar spoke quickly. “ Frankly, you were the better of the candidates but none the less.” Amar added.

“I was really nervous to meet you, my interview was a disaster, and my Grandmother just passed away. You are my idol, what do you want from me?” Bram pleaded.

“Perfection is what I desire, nothing less” Rasoyia uttered.

“I do need my book back, Bram” Rasoyia reached for the book as he inched closer and closer to Bram.

Bram recoiled, “What are you doing with this book?

“Let’s just say it’s a little secret seasoning that can give anyone what their heart desires” Rasoyia chuckled in amusement.

“For example, I desire perfection and that is what I get. That is why I am a famous Chef with restaurants all over the world” Rasoyia turned toward Bram.

“There is only one drawback but it’s a small price to pay to acheive your dreams.”

“I could make you the greatest Chef in the world, well….the second greatest Chef in the world, next to me, that is.” Rasoyia said while eyeing Bram. “I could give you all that you desire, fame, fortune, or both. You could be just like me and run your own restaurant, if you so desire. The steaks are high, all you have to do is sink your teeth in and take a bite out of the steak, it’s your choice.”

Act 3:

Bram came to his senses, “It’s a curse?” Bram said softly. “You’ve cursed everyone who eats at your restaurants and you have been turning them to immortals?!” “Vampires!!” Bram said accusingly, his heart still racing. “Why would anyone want to achieve their dreams by cheating!” Bram said confidently. Chef Rasoyia became agitated, turning into a vampire he lunged himself at Bram bearing his sharp fangs at him; grabbing for the book. Bram tripped over a chair and the book flew out of his hands and into the fireplace.

The book emitted a large black cloud of smoke and hissed as it diminished in the flames. Rasoyia fell to the floor and gasped for air. As Chef Rasoyia laid on the ground, a bat-like figure expelled from his body floating in mid-air and suddenly disappeared without a trace.

Bram ran over to check on Rasoyia, who was weak but not dead. Amar was no longer trapped by the Vampire demon that was inhabiting his body. Rasoyia shook Bram’s hand and was relieved to be feeling lively again, “Thank you for freeing me” he said. “You are the only one who has tried to help me and reverse the curse that I have been under for many years.”

Ever since Bram helped Cure Rasoyia from the Curse, Bram realized his Grandmother was his soul inspiration for becoming a Chef, because of all of the precious moments they shared together as he grew up. In realizing this Bram knew he was going to be a great Chef as long as he put his heart and soul into it.

Bram and Amar became friends and decided to co-own a brand new restaurant together, in honor of Grandma Myles. The sign on the front read, grand opening, Mama Mafanikio’s fine dining experience. Presented by Chef Bram Myles and Chef Amar Rasoyia.
