Here is the full animatic of my story!
The story stars a very self critical young man named Javi who works as a barista in a supermarket. He has a crush on his only friend and co-worker Chris, who loves creepy stuff especially werewolves hence his necklace he wears everyday. Javi ties to ask Chris out often but always bails, because he thinks he’s not good enough for Chris and doesn’t want to risk losing his only friend.
One day Chris invites Javi to a last minute Halloween party and Javi wants to get a good werewolf costume to impress Chris and maybe get the confidence to ask him out finally! Since it’s so last minute Javi doesn’t have the funds for a good costume so he buys a cheap one. The costume says “One Time Use” and when he puts on the cheap costume it turns him into a REAL WEREWOLF!
This is the best costume ever for Javi so he happily heads to the party to make Chris fall for him! When he arrives the whole party is shocked and amazed by the costume, and they force Javi to the dance floor. He is nervous of this at first till he realizes he likes the attention and it might help get the attention of Chris if he goes all out.
Chris notices the super happy werewolf and asks him to dance! Javi has the time of his life with Chris, but begins to wonder if Chris wouldn’t have as much fun if it was the real Javi.
He excused himself to the bathroom and decides to take off the costume real quick to see if Chris would still like him, but then his reflection yells at him to stop!
In the mirror is a dark reflection of Javi’s negative thoughts about himself with red glowing eyes.
Mirror javi warns Javi not to take off the costume because it’s “One Time Use” once he takes it off that’s it he can never be the werewolf again, and everyone including Chris will go back to not caring about him anymore.
Javi has an internal struggle with Mirror Javi and eventually realizes he doesn’t care if everyone loves him better this way, because he doesn’t love himself this way. He is proud of who he is, and he has to know if Chris can accept the real him. He risks everything by taking off the costume and confessing to Chris.
However Chris already knew Javi was the werewolf because of the similarities the werewolf shared with Javi.
The whole reason Chris threw the last minute party was to get see another side of Javi that wasn’t so shy at work, and then Javi confesses his feelings to Chris. Chris admits he knew Javi liked him, and he just wanted to hear Javi say it finally. Chris likes him too and ask Javi to dance as themselves this time. The two head to the dance floor hand in hand!
