The drawings for my story are very must first pass sketches. I think they are just enough to get the story points across however I would have liked to do a cleaner pass before the submission but I won't get time. I will revisit them over the coming weeks.

Scripting transcript....

Act 1:

1 There once was a fighting cock all scruffy and bruised who wanted out of the fight game to find love and escape to the greener pastures afar.

- the crowd was still jeering and cheering after cocks latest victory.
- he didn't want this life, but its a kill or be killed kinda game.
- he's tossed back into his small cage and the door slams shut.

2 (Every Day) Every day he would see the free hens roaming the land and being visited by their loving master

- The next morning, like every morning, he sees the sun rising over the fields afar lighting them up like a perfect picture.
- He would see the loving farmer coming out and the free hens rushing to see him like puppy dogs playing with their owner.
- But he was seeing all of this through the eyes of eternal captivity, through the rusty bars of his prison cell.

3 (Every Day) Every night after a hard day in the ring his master would lock him away and toss him his bowl of slop

- he delivers finishing blow after finishing blow to his opponents and his reward is to get to live another day
- The door to the shed burts open, and in it stands the silhouette of his master, the cock cowering in the corner as his bowl of slop is tossed into his gage.
- the sun sets over his dank prison and a tear drips from his eye.

Act 2:

4 Because of that he knew he had to begin to plan his

- He woke that morning determined to plan his escape, but it wasnt going to be easy. The door was always locked shut, the dogs patrolled the courtyard and the forest seperating him and his lush sanctuary was boobytrapped.
This started seeming like an impossible task.
- Discouraged and dejected he was back at the ring waiting for his fight when he saw a cock getting placed in an unsecured vets wagon.
- It was then it came to him, he was going to have to take a fall and escape with the vet, in an unlocked van

5 The big day arrived, freedom was close and the escape was on

- Round 2 comes round, and the time is now, he drops his guard and the opposition cock delivers a blow flush to his beak, he closes his eyes and lets gravity take control, the crowd gasp as he thuds to the floor in a cloud of dust.
- Hes getting carried into the vets wagon where the farmer would ride behind to the surgery.
- Once the journey commences, he opens one eye and comes bursting out of the back of the vets wagon, his master in disbelief as he whizzes past his window .
- The farmer spun his wagon around and chase was on, over the fields and through the water holes. He walks over the ridge of the hill after shaking the farmer and collapses to the floor.

6 He arrives at freedom and is fed and watered by his loving farmer each day until he is healthy, happy and perfectly plump.

- Hes awoken to a hareem of hens staring down at him. Was this heaven?
- then the hens parted and the reveal the new farmer who reached down picked him up and carried him nto his house where he could finally rest.
- From that day he was then fed with the rest of the hens until he was healthy, happy and perfectly plump. He even found love.

Act 3:

7 Until finally, his new master carries him lovingly with his new love into the farmers house to celebrate Christmas with the family.

- The seasons changed and life was good
- They hear the farmers footsteps crunching under the snow. This day, like every day, the barn door clicks open and the farmer approaches them for their feeding.
- But, this time was different. He reached down, picked up and lovingly carried the cock and his hen towards the house. They had been chosen to join the farmer and his family in their house for Christmas dinner.
- They sit in front of the warm fire, at first without a care in the world. But then something doesn't seem right. They look around, they see a recipe, they see a guest list, a table set for dinner with 2 empty plates and then the farmer in the kitchen sharpening his knives.

8 On that day he learnt that the grass isn't always greener on the other side and even if life isn't what you expected when you reach your goals. Keep on fighting and you will get there eventually.
