GRAMERCY PARK
A Shakespearean actor finds himself caught trespassing on the private property of an elderly waspy woman. As he is due on stage for his dream performance, he plays all his tricks to set himself free.
----
Once upon a time, Ryo was a young talented actor who was about to see his dream come true: to play Hamlet on Broadway.
Every night, he sneaked into the distinguished private Gramercy park, to read his lines to his Shakespearean idol of all time, the famous Edwin Booth. Until the night of the premiere.
Ryo had to come earlier as usual, and Henrietta, a waspy resident, caught him, jeopardizing his presence at the premiere.
Because of that, he played the skull scene from Hamlet and showed Yorick’s skull. Because of that Henrietta called the security guard.
Because of that Ryo transformed into Abraham Lincoln and said the Gettysburg address.
Because of that, Henrietta and the guard were touched.
Because of that, Ryo went above and beyond and performed the assassination of Abraham Lincoln with a prop gun.
Because of that, the guard arrested Ryo. The church bell rang at 8 pm. The play was about to start.
Because of that, Henrietta realized Ryo's love for Shakespeare, asked the guard to release Ryo, and called her chauffeur to drive him to the theater.
The premiere was a success, honored with a standing ovation.
And ever since then, Henrietta invites Ryo to play Shakespeare, with Victor, in the still very exclusive Gramercy Park.
The moral of the story is that the eye only sees what the mind is ready to understand.
