Act 1: Once upon a time, there was a thirteen-year-old girl named Trixie who was quiet, and shy on the outside. But on the inside, she held a deep curiosity and hunger for the world beyond her. To feed this hunger she often visited the library to read where adventures were endless. The library became her haven, books her companions. In books, Trixie could be anyone. She could be a powerful queen with incomprehensible magic. She could be a cunning swashbuckler in a band of adventurers on a mission to help defeat evil. She could be the astronaut that saved the world from a catastrophic asteroid. Until one day she couldn’t go to the library, because it was closed due to COVID-19 and she received an invite in the mail to go to the intergalactic library.



Mom: Trixie making friends can be hard sometimes, but that is okay. You just got to put yourself out there.
Trixie: Yeah, okay, whatever mom. Can we go to the library already?


Mom: Alright honey, I'll be back in an hour. Try not to go too crazy in there and try to make some friends.
Trixie: Sure mom, if I made any I would feed them to a dragon anyway. Hmm, actually I wonder if they got any new dragon books this week.

Trixie: And mom wonders why I prefer books.

3 Weeks Later
Mom: Can you stop the pacing?
Trixie: Mom I am so bored! Could you get me some books on Amazon since I can't go to the library?
Mom: I don't know honey, I got to talk to your father with me not working things are tight. Why don't you go check the mail, and get a bit of fresh air?

Trixie: Oh that's why she wanted me to get the mail, she had already got me a new book! I got to go start this now!
Trixie: Welcome to the intergalactic library whoaha

Act 2:
Because of the teleportation book, Trixie is transported to the intergalactic library
minor beat: Trixie finds herself surrounded by books and in front of the intergalactic librarian Quinn who introduces her to the library.
Trixie: “Sooo many books, am I dead?”
Quinn: “You are not dead Trixie, welcome to the intergalactic library. I am Quinn and I am here to help you.”
Trixie: “How did I….why am I here?
Quinn: We know about that virus on earth and we heard your wish to be with books. We sent the invite and you accepted.”
Trixie: The book?
Quinn: There are few readers who don’t question the appearance of a random book and instead immediately it; those are the readers who welcome here.”

minor beat: Quinn tells Trixie she is welcome to come and go from the library using the book as long as the crisis remains on earth.
Trixie: So only special readers?
Quinn: Those who need the library most like you. You are welcome to come and go using the teleportation book we gave you, take any book you like as long as you return it. Do not share it with others.

Because of the no-sharing rule, Trixie asks about other rules and the most important she learns is to never touch a book in the restricted section that contains trapped space bookworms.
minor beat: Quinn walks Trixie around the library sharing the rules and shows her the restricted section.
Quinn: No eating or drinking while browsing, all food items must be eaten in the designated lounge areas. No more than 3 books can be checked out at once and most importantly do not go into the restricted area.
Trixie: Why not?
Quinn: Do you want to be eaten by a bookworm?
Trixie: I thought that was just a saying.
Quinn: No they are very real, bigger than any creature you’ve seen on earth and are ravenous. Very difficult to catch and keep feeding. The books they are trapped in can teleport like yours to places they can dwell without harming others.

minor beat: Trixie avoids the restricted area and tries to satiate her desire to know more by checking out books on bookworms.

Because of Trixie’s curiosity about bookworms and where else she can be transported to, she sneaks into the restricted section and unleashes a bookworm in the library!
minor beat: Trixie sneaking into the restricted section
minor beat: Trixie opening a book and unleashing the bookworm on the library!


Until finally Trixie traps the bookworm back into the teleportation book with the help of the librarian.
minor beat: Horrified at what she has done Trixie helplessly watches the bookworm destroy the library. The librarian screams at her to find the book and open it in front of the bookworm.
Trixie: What have I done? I don’t know how to fix this!
Quinn: Trixie! Find the book you opened it can transport the bookworm back!

minor beat: Trixie finds the book and runs to the big worm opening it, and bringing it back into the world it was trapped in.
Trixie: I have it!
Quinn: Open it in front of the worm and say “Welcome to Eos!”
Trixie: Welcome to EOS!


And ever since then Trixie has learned adventure is not dangerous, but the meaningful moment of our lives.
minor beat: Trixie apologizes to the Librarian/ and the remaining patrons understanding the significance of pursuing adventures, not all need wild creatures, some adventures are just enjoying opportunities like being able to come to the library or making a new friend which the librarian says they will always be.
Trixie: I am so sorry. I never meant to hurt anyone, I just wanted to see another world.I didn’t believe in the bookworm, I thought it would be okay.
Quinn: Well now you know, what are you going to do to help?
Trixie: I understand if I am never welcome back, but I would also love to help fix this if I can.
Quinn: We all make mistakes, but do you care about the library?
Trixie: Yes
Quinn: Then you are a friend of the library still. Go, find a broom and let's start cleaning up.

minor beat: Trixie with an alien friend reading a book together in the library.
Trixie’s voice: the moral of the story is our lives are equally as adventurous as the stories we read, including our mistakes too.
