Galapagos tells the story of a young adventurous boy named Breckin who loses his father and begins to deal with grief by shutting himself off from the rest of the world.

He then receives a compass for his birthday that belonged to his father that possesses Magical Powers that he could have never imagined.

The compass creates a portal that takes him to the Galapagos Islands in the 1500s where he finds himself trying to help defend the local wildlife and the islands from Evil Pirates. He finds a new friend, a tortoise named Lonesome George, who becomes a father-figure for Breckin that looks after Breckin and the islands while trying to help Breckin find a way home.

Breckin and George will find a connection that they both share that is the key to the creation of the portal that brought them together and will keep them connected beyond this journey.

Galapagos will be filled with action, comedy, grief, and love as well as show just how much damage man can do to the Environment and its Wildlife if we don't watch how we treat it.

Galapagos is a story about loss and will show that as one of my favorite song's states: "Even in the Darkness of the Night, you can still find Daylight."

I hope you enjoy.

Story Spine:

Once upon a time there was a young boy named Breckin who lived at home with his mother and his father.

Every day, he and his father would go out on adventures, where they would always use his dad’s Compass to ensure that they never lost their way home.

Until one day, after one of their adventures, tragedy struck and took his father away from him.

Because of that Breckin shut himself off from everyone that he ever knew.

His grades began to suffer at school, he stopped going on his adventures and he began to lock himself inside his room.

On his birthday, his mother showed him a photo album that told of the history of the compass before giving Breckin his father’s compass as a gift for his birthday.

Breckin then went on a hike where he noticed that he compass was not working correctly and thought that it may have been damaged in the accident that took his father from him.

As he tried to mess with it, he paid no attention to where he was going and stumbled on a blue glowing portal.

He began to inspect the portal before being pulled in.

He was transported through the portal to the deck of a pirate ship in the Galapagos during the 1500s.

He immediately found himself in a battle between humans and animals, where he had to outwit evil pirates and save the animals of the Galapagos.

Because of that he gains the trust of a Grumpy Old Tortoise named Lonesome George, who has defended the islands from mankind since he was young.

George tells Breckin about his life on the islands, including how his parents were taken by the pirates when he was young, and all that he had left from his father was the compass that he wore around his neck. George teaches Breckin how to work on the ship, and Breckin finds an extended family with George’s crew.

Breckin realizes that he misses his family back in his world, and George sends him with some of his crew to look for a way to return home which leads to Breckin’s capture by the evil pirates who use him as bait to capture George.

Until finally, George goes to save Breckin and offers to turn himself in, as long as the pirates agree to release Breckin.

Breckin is released and finds a portal but knows that he cannot leave George in the hands of the evil pirates, so he takes command of George’s crew and leads them back to rescue George. As he goes to rescue George he watches as the portal closes.

During the rescue, Breckin and George realize their two compasses are the same compass, and that Breckin’s Dad found George’s compass in the antique shop back in their time period.

When looking for a new portal, George notices that Breckin’s compass wasn’t working right, and they realize that it doesn’t point North. Instead, it points towards where portals can be found.

After defeating the pirates George and his crew take Breckin and send him back home through a portal that they are able to find with Breckin’s compass.

And ever since then… Breckin has begun to go on adventures once again back home, this time with his mother, while also returning to the Galapagos to help George and his crew defend the islands.

And the moral of the story is: In the darkest hour of the night, you find daylight.
